FROM DEEP WATERS TO THE SKY
Digisky’s founder and director, Moeava (Moe) de Rosemont, has a passion for underwater filming that dates back to his childhood. Born in Tahiti, French Polynesia, he began scuba diving at the age of nine and quickly developed a love for the discipline. After completing two years of university studies in science and three years at a cinema school (Nice), Moe earned a professional scuba diving qualification from the INPP (Professional National Institute of Scuba Diving) in Marseille, France, enabling him to dive to depths of up to 60 meters.
After working as a chief cameraman for an underwater video production company, Moe settled in Bora Bora in 2001, where he spent the next decade as a freelance underwater cameraman and photographer. During this time, he worked on numerous underwater film documentaries, exploring some of the most remote islands in the Pacific, such as Micronesia and the Tuamotu archipelago.
Moe’s work as an underwater cameraman has been internationally recognized, particularly for the exceptional footage he has captured of manta rays. His photography has been published in numerous magazines, including Air Tahiti and Ushuaïa Nature, and he has produced high-end marketing campaigns for luxury hotels in Bora Bora.
In 2011, Moe de Rosemont and his family made the move to New Zealand, where he founded ATEAdata, a company specializing in aerial imaging. Based in Papamoa, Bay of Plenty, the company was created with the goal of exploring the potential of aerial photography. With the rise of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and the development of new technical applications such as interactive 360° panoramas and photogrammetry, Moe saw a new frontier to explore and took on the challenge.
Now, with DigiSky, Moe brings his years of experience capturing high-quality images to a range of businesses across various industries. Certificated by the Civil Aviation Authority under Part 102, DigiSky prioritizes safety in all of its operations.
